American Cyborg: Steel Warrior (1993)

Director – Boaz Davidson

After a big nuclear war or something, the remaining population has been herded into a big slum where a machine imbued with an artificial intelligence keeps them under control with the use of cyborgs. Naturally there is a group of underground resistance fighters planning various schemes against the machine. Since the end of the war women have been infertile, and it's suggested that the birth of a child will somehow change everything. In a major rebel base under the ruins of the city that very thing is taking place.

The child, a little rubber fetus in a jar, has to be transported the 10 miles through the dangerous city to the ocean, where a boat from Europe will come to pick it up and raise it to adulthood. The rubber baby's mother, Mary, and two escorts are about to leave when an enforcer cyborg clad in studded leather bursts into the lab and starts killing shit.

With the rubber baby in her backpack, Mary is the only one to escape alive and finds herself alone in the city. She quickly runs afoul of some of the crusty denizens of the ruins only to be saved at the last moment by Austin, a rugged macho warrior. Pursuing the rubber baby, the cyborg breaks up the happy encounter with his fruity blonde mustache and padded shoulders.

Austin and Mary flee, but time and again they are hounded by the merciless cyborg.Austin slashes the cyborg's throat open releasing a gout of white fluid, but this solution only helps the cyborg regenerate the wound. In a final confrontation the undefatigueable cyborg rips of Austins arm. Weeping uncontrollably like an elderly Polish widow, Austin clutches his bloody stump, only to discover that he too is a cyborg, a Red Blooded American Cyborg! Stitching the cyborg's severed arm onto his own stump, Austin takes Mary the last few blocks to the ocean where she passes her rubber baby to some French guys in a rotting wooden dinghy who plop the sucker into a big olive jar. Knowing he is destined to remain in the city, American Cyborg turns his back to Mary and walks away knowing that he has somehow helped save humanity. As a parting shot Mary promises to name the rubber baby Austin.
